Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the design concept through the preparation of mechanical (HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing and Drainage Systems) detailed design, production drawings and schematics for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Conduct heating and cooling load calculations.
  • Work with the project team and Project Manager to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects.
  • Create technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
  • Perform calculations, create specification, and equipment selection.
  • Review shop drawings to confirm they adhere to project requirements.
  • Consistently follow company policies, procedures, and file structures/formatting.
  • Perform general duties as required such as printing, plotting, scanning, conversion, quantity take-offs and measurement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 4+ years’ work experience in Mechanical Design (HVAC & Plumbing emphasis).
  • Demonstrated experience working on various commercial, industrial, and/or institutional buildings.
  • The ability to read piping sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on various tasks.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) an asset.
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
