Duties & Responsibilities:
- Travel throughout the Greater Toronto Area and across Canada to inspect electrical systems in the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional buildings industry.
- Assess, troubleshoot, commission, and offer recommendations for electrical equipment.
- Maintain and repair lighting systems.
- Interpret and work with product specifications, building plans, and design documents.
- Conduct and attend site visits including but not limited to site verifications, inspections, and meetings.
- Apply and adhere to national and provincial building codes across Canada.
- Offer technical support as needed.
- Complete and handle paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and access to a personal vehicle.
- A valid 309A license with at least 5 years of experience is required.
- A 442A license is considered an asset.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and their operations.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian Electrical Code, the Canadian National Building Code (NBC), Ontario Building Code (OBC), etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a talent for building relationships.
- Solid analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to various work locations and schedules, including the ability to travel away from home is a must.
