Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Manage and deliver sustainability consulting projects with senior team from initiation through completion.
  • Lead project teams in the delivery of sustainability certification projects, including LEED, BOMA BEST, WELL Building Standard, CaGBC Zero Carbon Building, municipal green building standards, and climate resiliency initiatives.
  • Develop project-specific sustainability strategies, including green building, decarbonization and resilience strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and project stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and providing strategic sustainability guidance.
  • Manage sustainability certification processes, including project planning, documentation, certification submissions, responses to review comments, and coordination with architects, engineers, contractors, building owners/facility managers.
  • Review and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical design drawings to evaluate sustainability opportunities and compliance with project objectives.
  • Lead or oversee building energy and water audits, building performance assessments, and benchmarking initiatives.
  • Oversee and conduct greenhouse gas inventories, carbon accounting, building benchmarking using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, and measurement of building performance.
  • Conduct the development of decarbonization roadmaps, net-zero building strategies, and renewable energy feasibility studies, including solar assessments.
  • Complete whole-building Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and Embodied Carbon Assessments.
  • Facilitate project meetings, workshops, presentations, and stakeholder engagement sessions.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance within team, reviewing work for quality and supporting professional development, where appropriate.
  • Assist in the development of technical guidance documents, best practices, templates, and internal resources.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Degree or Certificate in environmental science, sustainability, building science, planning, or a related field.
  • LEED Accredited Professional (AP) with speciality required.
  • WELL AP, Fitwel Ambassador, or Energy Manager in Training/Certified Energy Manager is an asset.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in sustainability consulting, green buildings, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability concepts and their practical applications in the built environment.
  • Strong knowledge of LEED, WELL, BOMA BEST and Zero Carbon Building certification programs.
  • Experience with Net Zero buildings and/or CaGBC Zero Carbon Buildings.
  • Experience with LCA tools including Athena Impact Estimator, OneClick LCA, etc.
  • Working knowledge of building mechanical and electrical systems.
  • ESG experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with energy modelling software such as eQuest, EE4, or equivalent is considered an asset.

  • Compensation Range: $80,000 - $110,000
