Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Review and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical design drawings.
- Evaluate and analyze various building energy measures by performing iterative modelling.
- Provide design recommendations to improve energy efficiency of building.
- Prepare detailed responses to energy model reviews and audits from various modelling authorities (i.e. CaGBC, municipalities, etc.).
- Conducting Energy Audits; from walkthrough to final reporting.
- Analyze utility and meter data to conduct M & V studies and utility analysis.
- Carbon Tracking and reporting.
- Sustainable design of prototype buildings for clients.
- Review designs for adherence to LEED credits.
- Managing and preparing documentation pertaining to LEED and other green building rating and certification systems.
- Manage multiple sustainability projects simultaneously, ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of Sustainability Consultants, Energy Modellers, and LEED Coordinators by providing technical guidance, training, and performance support.
- Advising clients and Architects on the implementation of green building strategies.
- Support business development initiatives by assisting with proposals, client presentations, and identifying new project opportunities.
- Promote continuous improvement by maintaining quality assurance standards and staying current with industry best practices, sustainability standards, and emerging technologies.
- Completing whole-building Life Cycle Assessments.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Architectural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Building Science, Sustainable Energy, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in the sustainable energy industry.
- 3+ years of experience leading project teams and mentoring staff.
- Understanding of sustainability concepts and their practical applications.
- An understanding of the LEED program (v2009 and v4) and associated rating systems under the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) and US Green Building Council (USGBC).
- Experience with Net Zero buildings and/or CaGBC Zero Carbon Buildings, is an asset.
- Experience with HVAC and plumbing design, Energy Modelling, and energy auditing, is an asset
- Strong knowledge of Athena Impact Estimator for Buildings, or equivalent LCA software, is an asset.
- LEED Accredited Professional is an asset.
- Experience in measurement & verification is an asset.

- Compensation Range: $80,000 - $110,000
