Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Support senior team members in delivering sustainability consulting projects, including LEED, BOMA BEST, WELL, CaGBC Zero Carbon Building, municipal green building standards, and climate resiliency initiatives.
  • Assist in developing project-specific sustainability strategies, including green building, decarbonization and resilience recommendations.
  • Coordinate sustainability certification projects by collecting and organizing documentation, preparing certification submissions, responding to review comments, and liaising with architects, engineers, contractors, building owners, and facility managers.
  • Review and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings to support sustainability consulting and certification activities.
  • Participate in building energy and water audits, from site walkthroughs through final reporting.
  • Assist with greenhouse gas inventories, carbon accounting, building benchmarking using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, and measurement of building performance.
  • Support the development of decarbonization roadmaps, net-zero building strategies, and renewable energy feasibility studies, including solar assessments.
  • Participate in whole-building Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and Embodied Carbon Assessments.
  • Coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas and meeting minutes, and assist with project documentation and deliverables.
  • Support workshops, presentations, and training sessions.
  • Assist in developing technical guidance documents, templates, and internal resources.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Strong organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Degree or Certificate in environmental science, sustainability, building science, planning, or a related field.
  • LEED Green Associate (GA) designation, or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
  • LEED Accredited Professional (AP), WELL AP, Fitwel Ambassador, or Energy Manager in Training/Certified Energy Manager is an asset.
  • 0-2 years of experience in sustainability consulting, green buildings, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
  • Understanding of sustainability concepts and their practical applications in the built environment.
  • Knowledge of LEED, WELL, BOMA BEST and Zero Carbon Building certification programs.
  • Familiarity with LCA tools including Athena Impact Estimator, OneClick LCA, etc, is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of building mechanical and electrical systems is an asset.
  • ESG experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with energy modelling software such as eQuest, EE4, or equivalent is considered an asset.

  • Compensation Range: $40,000 - $55,000
